Cancellations & Replacement
Annual Sticker Cancellations
It is your responsibility to notify Parking Services if you no longer need to park on campus, or if you terminate employment. Remove the sticker(s) from the vehicle (a razor blade scraper works well to remove stickers). Please photograph the removed sticker(s) and email the photo to parking@northwestern.edu. Please include your name and employee ID number. It is okay if the sticker breaks, tears or is in pieces. Refunds/cancellations are processed only upon receipt of a photo of the removed sticker(s).
- Faculty/Staff: Faculty and staff will be charged for each month the permit is assigned. Faculty and staff must remove their permit(s) and hangtag (if applicable). Payroll deductions will not be terminated until proof of the removed permit(s) is received by the Parking Services Office; remove the permit and email the photo as described above. Please remember that parking payroll deductions fall one month behind; for example, the February deduction pays for January parking. Permits must be cancelled by the fifth day of the month to not be charged for that month.
- Emeritus Faculty: Simply remove the sticker, photograph the sticker, and email the photo as described above. No further action is required. Your Wildcard parking access will be deactivated on the date of cancellation.
- Student: No refunds are issued after the fifth day of spring quarter. Outstanding, non-appealable violations will be assessed to the refund.
Annual Sticker Replacement
A $10.00 fee will be charged for a replacement annual permit sticker.
Sticker for a new vehicle: You will need to obtain a new sticker for the new vehicle by visiting the Parking Office. First, remove the old sticker from the vehicle (a razor blade scraper works well to remove stickers). It is okay if the sticker breaks, tears, or is in pieces. Then bring the pieces of the old sticker into the Parking Office along with the new vehicle registration and your Wildcard. If you no longer have access to the vehicle, before a replacement permit can be issued, you will need to complete an affidavit verifying you are not able to return the permit. Affidavits are available in the Parking Services office.
If you wish to change from a single vehicle to the carpool/two vehicle permit, remove the old sticker from the vehicle (a razor blade scraper works well to remove stickers). It is okay if the sticker breaks, tears, or is in pieces. Then bring the pieces of the old sticker into the Parking Office along with the new vehicle registration and your Wildcard. You will then be issued two identical stickers and a matching hang tag. Be advised, two registered vehicles cannot be on campus at the same time. Whichever vehicle that you wish to drive to campus needs to have a sticker and hangtag displayed for it to be valid.
Carpool/two vehicles: You will need to obtain a new set of stickers by visiting the Parking Office. First, remove the old sticker(s) from the vehicle (a razor blade scraper works well to remove stickers). It is okay if the sticker breaks, tears, or is in pieces. Then bring the pieces of the old stickers into the Parking Office along with the new vehicle’s registration and your Wildcard. You will then be set up with a new set of stickers and hangtag for the carpool/multi-car permit.
Temporary Hangtag Permits
Temporary hangtag (monthly, quarterly, etc.) permits cannot be replaced; new permits must be purchased at the current rate.
