Undergraduate Education
The undergraduate educational experience is central to the mission of Â鶹´«Ã½. Miriam Gamoran Sherin, Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education, leads the Office of Undergraduate Education (UE) in strengthening connections between central administration, undergraduate schools, and Student Affairs to promote and support the academic excellence and personal growth of Â鶹´«Ã½ undergraduates.
Academic Experience
The Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education facilitates enhancement of undergraduate academics through participation in a variety of initiatives that span the University. This includes leading Â鶹´«Ã½’s Undergraduate Council, which works to identify opportunities for University-wide collaboration and provide creative and pragmatic solutions to systemic, University-wide challenges.
The Undergraduate Education office provides leadership for advising at Â鶹´«Ã½, supporting the work and collaboration of academic school-based advising and coordination of offices that offer advising on special opportunities and navigation of challenges for all undergraduates. UE provides leadership for the advising platform ConnectNU and created and maintains the Undergraduate Advising website.
It is important for students to have access to the tools and opportunities they need to be successful at Â鶹´«Ã½ and beyond. UE launched and leads the initiative, which works to reduce the cost of course materials such as textbooks, equipment, and software. In conjunction with this initiative, UE directs the Books for 'Cats and Art for 'Cats programs to reduce the cost of textbooks for eligible students identified by the Office of Financial Aid.
Â鶹´«Ã½ is committed to upholding an inclusive community that cares deeply about the interests and needs of its diverse student body. The Office of FGLI Initiatives leads campus collaboration on strategies and policies to support students who identify as first generation and/or lower income.

The Associate Provost provides funding and support for student groups to facilitate students’ passions outside the classroom and provide opportunities for them to hone their talents. Working closely with the , as well providing support to other student organizations, the Associate Provost fosters a positive Â鶹´«Ã½ community that allows students to grow and flourish.
Residential Experience
Â鶹´«Ã½ is proud to house 10 Residential Colleges where students can immerse themselves in living-and-learning communities according to their passions and interests. The Associate Provost collaborates with the Division of Student Affairs to promote faculty engagement, strengthen academic programming, and enrich academic support in residential spaces across campus.
