Danika Kmetz is the Director of Student Affairs Marketing and Communications. Prior to joining the Student Affairs Marketing team in September 2021, Danika served as Assistant Director of College Communications at the University of Chicago. In this role, she implemented internal, external and crisis communications, and oversaw the work of a student team to develop web, social media and editorial content that celebrated and highlighted the achievements of students in the undergraduate College. She regularly collaborated with student-facing units across the university to spread the reach of content and provided recommendations on communications, messaging, content strategy, event planning and promotions, and brand voice. Prior to her career in higher education, Danika was a public relations and media specialist at Thyssenkrupp, where she supported external communications for the company’s automotive business units and the North America region as a whole. She previously held positions at public relations agencies, including Hill+Knowlton Strategies and Golin. Danika received her Bachelor of Arts in public relations from Illinois State University. She lives in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood with her cockapoo Hank.
